LOUISIANA - A violent video game may have led to a Louisiana 8-year-old shooting and killing his elderly caregiver, and the boy may never face charges.
Detectives say the young boy told them it was an accident, but they believe he intentionally shot the woman in the back of the head.
The boy's father says the gun belonged to the woman.
Police say the boy was playing the video game "Grand Theft Auto" minutes before he shot the woman.
Detectives are struggling with this case because of a unique state law.
In the state of Louisiana, children under the age of 10 cannot be charged with a crime.
