Drivers in Kansas City ranked as some of the best in the nation

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - How good are Kansas City drivers? A new report from Allstate ranks Kansas City 31st out of the nation’s 200 largest cities. That’s down from a 30th ranking last year. Drivers on the Kansas side ranks 27th, down from a number 15 ranking in 2009.

The Allstate report ranks Fort Collins, Colorado as “America’s Safest Driving City.” The report says the average driver will be involved in an accident every 14.5 years, which is 31% less likely than the national average.

At the bottom of the rankings is Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose average drivers crash once every 6.5 years – 53% more likely than the average.

Auto crashes in general have declined over the last few years, but crash fatalities still average around 35,000 every year.
