ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. - The Drought in the Heartland has hit farmers especially hard.

In Southern Illinois, corn farmers are giving up hope on this season's crops. Instead they're mowing down their fields altogether.

Adams County farmer Gary Weiman says the drought has stunted his corn growth so bad that it is completely useless.

That's why Weiman is chopping down his corn to turn it into silage. That silage will then be used to feed cattle.
