OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - A Kansas State Representative is headed to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., as a delegate for presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
Marvin Kleeb represents the 48th district in southern Overland Park.
Some Republicans are worried the party's message could get overshadowed by the controversy surrounding U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin.
"People are going to talk about the Akin situation. And there are people who hope he'll change his mind and still get out," Kleeb said. "He's apologized. The ball is in his court on that. We have this bigger picture, we have to worry about getting Romney elected as president"
This is Kleeb’s first national convention.
