KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas Rep. Kevin Yoder has proposed a bill that would cut the salaries of members of Congress by 5 percent.
The bill would also get rid of the automatic cost-of-living adjustments legislators receive every year.
“People are fed up with the inability of Congress to work together and pass meaningful legislation to solve our country’s serious problems,” Yoder said in a statement.
"Cutting Congressional pay is a small dent, but I’m hopeful my colleagues will wake up to the fact that we need more leadership on serious issues and much less chatter about them," he said.
