LAWRENCE, Kan. - One person was hospitalized after a crash Tuesday morning in Douglas County.

It happened a little after 6 a.m. on the west end of Clinton Parkway near the K-10 bypass in Lawrence.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s office, a 21-year-old Ottawa man was headed westbound on the bypass when he drifted into the eastbound lane.

One vehicle avoided the car, but a pickup truck could not. The two vehicles collided nearly head-on, according to the sheriff’s office.

The 51-year-old driver of the pickup truck was taken to a Topeka hospital with serious injuries. The other driver involved was not hurt.
