UPDATE: Friends grieve for Gardner teen killed
JOHNSON COUNTY, Kansas - A teenager was killed in a collision late Monday afternoon.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of 159th Street and Four Corners Road, located just west of Gardner, Kansas.
According to Lt. Don Bowers with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, one vehicle was traveling east on 159th Street and the other vehicle was traveling north on Four Corners Road, when they collided in the intersection.
Authorities say one teenager is dead and two adults are in critical condition.
A power pole was also severed in the crash and electricity was affected for several hours.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
