PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - One person was killed early Monday morning after a car struck a tree in the yard of a Johnson County home.
Police were called to the 6700 block of Roe Avenue, in Prairie Village, just after 2 a.m. on reports of a single-vehicle accident. When they arrived, they found a Suzuki Forenza disabled in the front of the home. Authorities said the Forenza was traveling southbound on Roe before it lost control and hit the tree.
The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle, according to police.
The crash is still under investigation. The driver's identity has not been released.
