OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Christmas season is about spending time with your family and celebrating the people you love, and one Johnson County family hasn't seen their son for the last three months -- until now.
Friday night, family and friends greeted Sean Beland at KCI Airport.
Beland graduated from Blue Valley West and immediately enlisted in the Army at 18. He spent ten months in Afghanistan before returning to his Army post at Forth Richardson in Alaska.
"I'm glad to be home. I wasn't expecting this at all," Sean Beland of the 1st Squadron Airborne, 40th Cavalry Regiment said.
Beland will be home for another month before returning to Alaska.
