OLATHE, Kan. - New concerns are being raised about proposed changes to the Kansas Medicaid. The state program is called KanCare.
Kansas Governor Sam Brownback proposal would allow Kansas to make changes without federal approval.
Concerned residents held a meeting Saturday in Olathe, Kansas. Marti Weiner, a concerned parent said, “They are looking to make their profit and one of the ways they make their profits is to keep down costs as much as possible and the only way they can keep down costs is to cut services with disabilities. ”
State officials say that making the change will save the state an estimated $347 Million dollars over five years.
