MISSION, Kan. - Mission City Council members give the final go-ahead for the Mission Gateway Development.
During Tuesday night's meeting, members approved phase one of the $160 million project.
The developer of the Mission Gateway Project asked the city to contribute $30 million in public funding and the rest would be paid for by the developer.
The development at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Roe is planned for retail space. The plan includes shutting down the Walmart currently located in Roeland Park, and moving it to Mission.
