DENVER - A Johnson County, Kan ., native was among the five people killed in a Denver bar early Wednesday morning.
Authorities identified 29-year-old Ross Richter as one of the victims found inside the charred remnants of a Colorado bar and grill. Family confirmed that he is the same Richter formerly of Overland Park, Kan.

According to the Richter family, Ross is a 2001 graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School and an alumnus of Kansas State University. He moved out to Colorado approximately two years ago.
Richter was a Bureau of Land Management River Ranger and made his living helping people on the Colorado River in Kremmling, said a different friend, Will Tiefenbrun, who worked with him in Colorado. Richter's family told 41 Action News that was the perfect job for him because he loved hiking and being outdoors.

"He will be dearly missed by his friends and family," the family said. "The Richters send their thoughts and prayers to the families of the other victims."
The fire at Fero's Bar & Grill was spotted just before 2 a.m. Firefighters found four women and one man dead inside.
