OLATHE, Kansas - A Memorial Day holiday service honored 300 Civil War soldiers including a relative of President Obama's who is buried here in the metro.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War held the special Memorial Day weekend service.
300 Union Civil War veterans are buried at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
Among those honored, Robert Wolfley, President Obama's great, great, great grandfather.
He served in Company A of the 145th Ohio Infantry.
Obama's mother was originally from Kansas.
Veterans placed flags at all 750 soldiers grave sites, also located at the cemetery.
