LENEXA, Kan. - Drivers at a busy Lenexa, Kan., interchange may see some relief.
Transportation officials held a public meeting Monday night to figure out ways to change the congested area near Interstate 35 and 95th Street.
A number of businesses surround this area, and it's also used as a connector to Oak Park Mall.
One of the ways officials hope to ease traffic is with a proposed design called the diverting diamond.
It's said to make left turns easier on drivers.
"We can actually get more capacity with the number of lanes that we have on the bridge and an improved traffic operation without having to widen the bridge," transportation manager Steve Schooley said.
If the proposal is approved, construction will begin in 2014.
