MISSION, Kan. - One person died and two others were seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving a motorcycle that closed a Johnson County intersection for more than five hours.
The wreck, which involved the motorcycle and a car, happened just before 4 p.m. at 56th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
According to Johnson County Med-Act officials, one person died on the scene. Two others are injured; one seriously, and the other critically.
Emergency crews rerouted northbound traffic on Metcalf Avenue until just after 9 p.m.
The circumstances of the crash remained unclear Thursday morning.
