JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. - Some homeowners in Johnson County are wondering why the water company is trying to sell them insurance.
Waterone has partnered with a private company to offer waterline break insurance.
Those policies will pay for repairs to the service line that goes from the water meter into the house.
Waterone chose the company HomeServe to offer the insurance and sent out these information cards to Johnson County homeowners.
A few dozen customers have called, thinking the insurance is mandatory, but it is not.
Waterone plans to send out more information on the insurance offer in the next couple of weeks.
