KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A house fire in Kansas City, Kan. has claimed the life of a 5-year-old child.
Fire crews were called to the 4600 block of Greeley just after 4 a.m. on a reported house fire, with people trapped inside.
The first crews arrived to smoke and fire showing from the back side of the house.
Firefighters pulled a 5-year-old child from the structure and rushed the child to the hospital, where the child later died.
A second child and an adult were able to escape the fire with minor injuries, but were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
