One dead after mobile home fire in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Authorities remained on scene Wednesday of a mobile home fire that killed a man in Kansas City, Kan., Tuesday night.

The fire started around 8:30 p.m. at a home in the 1000 block of S. 75th Terrace. Arriving crews found heavy fire and smoke coming from the home.

The KCK Fire Department was notified a man was inside and immediately went in, finding the man deceased inside.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes, according to the KCK Fire Department.

Fire investigators entered what was left of the mobile home Wednesday morning to begin an investigation.

The victim has not been identified. Fire officials say he was in his mid-50s and lived alone at the home.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation. It caused about $50,000 to property and contents.
