New program brings free soccer to Olathe students

OLATHE, Kan. - A group of middle schoolers in Olathe, Kan., got to enjoy the nice weather and some friendly competition Thursday night.

A new, free soccer program was created this fall for the students by the Olathe School District and Olathe Family YMCA.

It even gives kids an opportunity to play on high school teams.

Many of these kids come from families that couldn't afford the registration fees for sports programs. Nearly 90 boys and girls participated in the free program.
