OLATHE, Kan. - A senior at Olathe North High School is still smiling after one of the highlights of his high school career this week.
Everyone in the gym was on their feet Tuesday night giving high school senior Dade Baker a thunderous round of applause.
Dade is the manager of the Olathe North basketball team.
He's a little person, and Tuesday night -- senior night -- his wish came true. For this one special night, he was not the manager. Instead, he got to play with the team.
It was a dream come true for him and the entire school body.
“I played when I was younger, but at a young age I had to quit because I couldn't keep up anymore,” Baker said. “So it's cool that I get another chance to play with my teammates and classmates in front of a pretty big crowd."
The crowd was cheering again as Dade started playing.
His teammate fed him the ball, and Dade took a shot, but he missed the basket.
Still, it was a win in Dade’s book. After the game, he thanked his coach, the team and everyone who supported him.
