OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Visitors to the Overland Park Arboretum can still experience nature’s beauty, but they will pay a little more starting next year.
The Overland Park City Council Monday night authorized a new series of fees for the arboretum at 179th Street and Antioch that will help the arboretum cover its costs.
Visitors 13-years-old and older will have to pay $3 per visit. Children ages 6 to 12 will pay $1. Children under 5-years-old remain free. The new fees go into effect on Jan. 1, 2013.
Overland Park spokesman Sean Reilly said the council also authorized two free admission weekends next year, but those dates have not been set.
