OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The owners of an Overland Park Chinese restaurant will have to spend the next few days cleaning up after a fire roared through their kitchen overnight.
Just before 5 a.m., Overland Park firefighters were dispatched out to the Joy Luck Chinese Restaurant, at 119th and Metcalf, on reports of a building fire.
The first units on the scene spotted smoke coming from the roof the building. Crews made access to the restaurant and located the fire in the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes, crews put out the fire, which impacted about 25 percent of the kitchen.
The business was closed at the time of the fire and it’s exact cause remains under investigation.
