OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Next week, Jews will mark the beginning of Passover. But, it’s not easy for some to get what they need for the holiday.
One Overland Park group is stepping in to lend a hand. The pantry at the Jewish Family Services is preparing meals for more than 150 families who can’t afford their own.
The food doesn’t come cheap. Passover food can’t come into contact with any bread or flour, and that inflates the price.
The pantry spends an estimated $2,400 extra during Passover than it does for an average week.
