OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - A Macy's in Johnson County will remain closed for repairs after this week's heavy snow damaged the roof.
The department store at the Metcalf South Shopping Center was evacuated Wednesday morning when employees noticed some ceiling tiles were sagging.

According to Tim Ryan, Overland Park building codes administrator, one of the end supports for a steel beam that helps hold up the roof failed because of the weight of the snow. Private engineers are working with mall management and Macy's officials to develop a repair plan.
While no one will be allowed in the store until the repairs are complete, Ryan said there's no fear of a catastrophic collapse.
