Overland Park is No. 9 on Money Magazine's 'Best Places to Live' list

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City suburb has cracked the Top 10 in an annual list of best small cities to live.

Overland Park, Kan., came in at No. 9 on Money Magazine’s "100 Best Places to Live in America" list, released at 8 a.m. CT Monday morning.

Money compiled statistics on small cities – with populations between 50,000 and 300,000 – dealing with economic strength, health care, crime, schools and activities.

Carmel, Ind., was No. 1 on the list.

In Missouri, O'Fallon, St. Charles and Florissant, all suburbs of St. Louis, cracked the Top 100, at 39, 71 and 76, respectively. No Kansas City suburbs on the Missouri side of the state line made the list.

Last year, Money Magazine ranked the top small towns, those with populations under 50,000. Kansas City suburbs Liberty, Mo. (7), and Lenexa, Kan. (47), both made that list.
