OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - An Overland Park man is back home after spending days stuck at sea on a stranded cruise ship.
Joe Perkins said he won't ever forget his experience on the Carnival Triumph -- but he's still looking forward to going on another cruise.
"I felt like they handled things best they could in the situation, namely the crew," he said. "They were right on top of dealing with things."
Among the things the crew and passengers had to handle: living in the dark after a fire damaged the ship's engine and having to walk through raw sewage.
But Perkins said he has no interest in pursuing legal action against Carnival. He's even booking a guys' trip for next year.
His wife, Erica Perkins, said she's not surprised.
"At the end of the day, I knew he'd love a good story, so he'd probably be just fine," she said.
