OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Police are searching for a missing medical student last seen going for a jog in a subdivision in Overland Park, Kan.
The man, identified as 24-year-old Raheel Morani, left his home near 162nd Street and Switzer around 5:30 p.m. Thursday and never returned. His family says he has no reason to want to run away or disappear.
Morani is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black V-neck shirt, gray sweatpants and white Puma tennis shoes when he left to go jogging.
Police used flashlights to search the neighborhood lake Thursday night, and spent much of Friday talking to people on the nearby trail. While they said there's no reason to believe anything of a criminal nature has occurred, they said the disappearance is "considered to be out of character" for Morani.
Dozens of volunteers joined the search early Friday evening. Some handed out flyers to drivers in the area, as others posted them at local businesses.
His family members are relying on faith as they spend their second night without him.
"It's hard ... just pray for him," said his father, Monti Morani. "We just urge everyone to just pray for him."
His mother, Almas Morani, is worried sick.
"We need you ... we all need you," she said.
