OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Firefighters contained a two-alarm fire at Blue Valley Northwest High School on Thursday night.
The flames broke out just after 9:30 p.m.
Firefighters made sure the custodial staff that was working on the opposite side of the building was evacuated and then attacked the fire, the Overland Park Police Department.
The fire was contained by 10 p.m. No one was injured.
Fire damage was contained to a first-floor Language Arts faculty room that was filled with textbooks, according to a statement from the fire department.
There was water and smoke damage to other parts of the building.
Overland Park fire investigators have listed the cause of accidental electrical. There was no damage estimate immediately available.
