OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - One person was treated for minor smoke inhalation Monday after a fire started in the garage of an Overland Park home and quickly swept through the attic.
The fire started around 1:30 p.m. in the 7300 block of W. 152nd St. Crews had the fire under control about 40 minutes later, according to the Overland Park Fire Department.
Three people who were home at the time of the blaze made it out without serious injury. Rescue crews found a dog inside of the burning house safely returned him to the homeowners.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross is helping the residents affected.
