ATCHISON COUNTY, Kan. - A convenience store clerk in northwest Missouri is credited with bringing a missing Atchison County, Kan., man home early Thursday.

Authorities issued a Silver Alert for 84-year-old Homer Saxton Wednesday night. He was last seen in the northwest part of Atchison County around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A convenience store cleark near Oregon, Mo., in Holt County, saw information about the Silver Alert online and recognized Saxton when he stopped for gas and asked for directions back to Atchison County.

Saxton was found shortly afterward in Horton, Kan., by police there.

Nearly 70 people, including many volunteers, spent hours Wednesday night and early Thursday looking for Saxton, who was reunited with his family early Thursday morning.
