ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A man and his 5-year-old daughter died in a morning traffic crash Tuesday on U.S. 36 Highway about five miles east of St. Joseph.
A Missouri Highway Patrol spokesman said the two were in a vehicle headed west on U.S. 36 Highway. Police identified the victims as 26-year-old Jason Musser and Charlene Musser, both of St. Joseph.
Musser tried to avoid a slow-moving tractor trailer, according to the spokesman.
The car slid sideways and the driver's side of the vehicle hit the back of the trailer.
The patrol's crash team will investigate the crash.
