BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - On Sunday, Blue Springs Christian Church began a new year of hosting blood drives. The church is located at 7920 S. Highway 7 in Blue Springs, Mo.
Three times a year, church leaders invite the Red Cross to have blood drives.
Before morning worship begins, Red Cross workers set-up their operation in the church fellowship hall. Church members or members of the community can come to the church before or after morning worship and donate blood.
“Blood is the gift of life,” said Minister Steve Wieduwilt of Blue Springs Christian Church. “We believe we’re giving life and hope to our community, our state and even the country because blood donated here is used throughout the United States."
There will be another Red Cross Blood Drive on Feb. 26 at the Olathe Fire Administration Building, 1225 S. Hamilton Circle in Olathe, Kan. It begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
