BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - A SILVER ALERT has been canceled after a missing Blue Springs man who suffers from dementia was found safe.
Police said 68-year-old Gerald V. Smith had been missing since Dec. 8. He was found around 3 p.m. Monday.
When officers conducted a health and welfare check at Smith’s home at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, they found the front door open. Smith and his car were both missing, according to police.
Smith was described by police as a white male with gray hair and blue eyes. He is 6 feet, 1 inch tall weighing 180 pounds.
His missing vehicle is a white and black striped 2005 Ford Roush Mustang.
