CLAY COUNTY, Mo. - The body of Gordon Carr, the fisherman missing since Friday on Smithville Lake, was found in the water Sunday afternoon, according to family members and authorities.
The search for the 72-year-old Carr began Friday, when another fisherman discovered Carr's unmanned boat drifting in the water.
Search crews found Carr’s body on the surface of the water near the Clinton Couth line, one of the areas where they concentrated their search.
Family members said Carr was an experienced fisherman and a strong swimmer.
We'll update this story with more details as they become available.
