GRANDVIEW, Mo. - Copper thieves recently left Grandview Salvation Army volunteers in the cold, but Grandview businesses stepped up and found help for the organization.

The group recently moved into a temporary location at 12140 Blue Ridge Blvd. They moved into the building for extra space to collect and distribute Christmas donations. Someone stole the copper from the store's rooftop heating system, leaving volunteers in the cold in the days leading up to a planned opening next Monday.

The group called the Grandview Chamber of Commerce for advice, and a local business stepped up to help. United Heating and Cooling of Grandview provided a portable heating device so the organization could begin operations again.
