GRANDVIEW, Mo. - A school bus was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon at the U.S. 71 southbound exit to Blue Ridge Boulevard. It is near the Truman Corners Shopping Center in Grandview.
It happened just before 2:30 p.m.
The bus, #29, was transporting a student home from Ruskin High School in the Hickman Mills C-1 School District.
According to initial reports, a car heading south on Blue Ridge turned in front of the bus and the bus struck the car.
One student and the bus driver were transported to an area hospital. The 11th grade student was suffering from an apparent asthma/anxiety attack.
John Baccala, spokesman for the Hickman Mills C-1 School District, said the bus driver is pregnant and was taken to the hospital as precaution.
The driver of the car had to be extricated from the wreckage and then was taken to a hospital.
A fire department spokesman said the injuries are not life-threatening.
