Independence considers water bill increase

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Independence, Mo., City Council is considering a water bill increase.
If approved, residents would pay an extra $1 a month on their bill beginning Oct. 2016.
The water department blames higher operation and maintenance expenses as the reason for the possible increase.
A decision could come as early as next Monday.
