INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve is the time the whole world shares a kiss.
But for an Independence couple, their kiss will ring in much more than a new year.
Rachelle Steele and John Kampe will be pronounced husband and wife with their midnight kiss.
Their wedding will take place in the middle of their New Year’s Eve party.
"About 11:30 I guess we will start the ceremony. We'll have the wedding right in the middle of the New Year's Eve party. Our kiss will be at midnight and our anniversary will be one, one, one, one,” Steele said.
They say the kiss will be just about the only thing that is traditional in the wedding ceremony.
The couple will be part of a blended family. He has three children. She has three dogs.
