INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Santa-Cali-Gon Days Festival shut down early at 5:30 p.m. Friday because of strong wind gusts.
Before the wind came in, rain wasn't affecting attendance. Crowds filled the festival's arts and crafts booths as people darted between them with umbrellas and ponchos in tow.
One mother daughter pair came despite the mother's broken foot because Santa-Cali-Gon is a 20-year tradition!
The winds, however, combined with the rain posed too much of a risk for tents, etc.
According to a festival spokeswoman, it will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday.
