INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - A 14-year-old boy was struck by a car while skateboarding in Independence early Monday evening.
The teen was hit near eastbound 40 Highway at Sterling Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
He was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, but his injuries are not life-threatening. Police say the driver stayed on the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
