INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The only survivor of a fiery crash is home Friday after nearly two months in the hospital.
Randy Alexander-Leslie, 18, was the passenger in the car when it slammed into a wall going 100 miles per hour. Independence police officers pulled him from the burning car. The driver, 25-year-old Ashly Young died in the crash.
Alexander-Leslie doesn't remember what happened, he's just thankful to be alive.
"Had I not died in the accident, I would have died in the fire definitely. You don't just go away from fires like that,” he said.
Alexander-Leslie is still recovering and said staying awake and keeping focused are difficult. He’s going to try and return to school on Monday.
