Jackson County authorities have arrested and charged the third suspect in the theft of a statue from an Independence museum.
The Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday that Randy V. Perez, 29, was charged with theft. Co-defendants identified Perez as the third person who helped steal and sell the large amount of bronze.
Perez turned himself into authorities on Friday. He’s being held on a $75,000 bond.
Perez was also charged with a separate 2nd degree burglary charge. Authorities said in that case, Perez is accused of entering a home on S. Phelps on Feb. 14. A $25,000 bond was requested in that case.
