LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - A Jackson County Sheriff's deputy was rear-ended during a traffic stop Monday night in Lee's Summit, Mo.
The deputy stopped a car on westbound Interstate 470 at Highway 350 when his vehicle was rear-ended by another driver just before 10 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
The driver who hit the deputy's car was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's office, the driver is believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
