INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - A plea hearing has been postponed for a former Independence pastor charged with killing a parishioner earlier this year.
Fifty-year-old David Love appeared without a lawyer Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court, prompting the judge to reschedule his arraignment for Jan. 10. Love applied for a public defender.
David Love is charged with first-degree murder. Love allegedly had an affair with one of his church members.
He's charged with killing her husband, 42-year-old Randy Stone in March.
He presided over Stone's funeral and no one though anything was suspicious until Love's church was raided.
Love resigned from the New Hope Baptist Church and moved to South Carolina.
He was a person of interest for months.
Love was arrested and brought back to Missouri last month.
