KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A little light from Bethlehem arrived in Kansas City Tuesday.
The Heart of America Council Boy Scout office at Interstate 435 and Holmes in Kansas City is home to the "Peace Light" until Christmas.
Many believers say this light has been burning for more than a thousand years in the grotto of the nativity in Bethlehem, Israel -- the place where Jesus was born.
"The light has been burning continuously on a plane from Austria, to Vienna. I picked it up in New York and carried it in my lantern here,” Joe Reding said.
Scouts overseas have been distributing the Christmas “Peace Light” for 20 years but it's the first time to our area.
Anyone can head down and light their own candle or lantern to take the "Peace Light" home. It's here until Christmas.
