Lockdowns were ordered at Lee’s Summit North High School, Campbell Middle School and Richardson Elementary schools. They began at 10 a.m.

By about 11:20 a.m., the man had been taken into custody and the lockdowns had been lifted.

An email from the district said the lockdown was precautionary in nature.

“Everyone is safe,” the email said. “This is a precautionary measure to make sure all students and staff are safe. We are not allowing students to leave for any reason at this point for safety issues.”
