LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - An entire community is pulling together to help one Lee’s Summit, Mo., business owner.
Joey Nichols, 56, is in a St. Louis hospital waiting for a double lung transplant.
Nichols suffers from pulmonary hypertension and doctors say without the transplant, he will only have a few months to live.
Family members say the medical expenses have been piling up so they decided to host a fundraiser at the Uptown Eatery.
"Without that transplant he will not make it and it's been phenomenal the outcome on Facebook, has just been incredible," Nichols’ sister Rachel Vospette said.
If you'd like to help - the Nichols family has set up an account on gofundme.com.
