LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a retention pond behind a Lee’s Summit grocery store.
Authorities say the man was spotted by a Hy-Vee employee on break behind the store at 301 NE Rice Road, in Lee’s Summit, Mo., who then called police.
The victim is described as a white male in his 30s. Authorities believe he may live in the area. Police are waiting to release his name until the family is notified.
No foul play is suspected at this time. Police did find a fishing pole near the bank where the victim was found.
