LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. - A Lee’s Summit man died Tuesday afternoon in a collision involving his motorcycle and another vehicle that failed to give the right of way, police said.
Lee’s Summit Police were called to the scene of an accident at Southwest Jefferson Street and Southwest Blue Parkway at 12:45 p.m.
Police said their initial investigation found a motorcyclist, 36-year-old Chad Fritz, was traveling north on Jefferson Street when he struck a southbound vehicle attempting to make a left turn to head east on Blue Parkway.
The investigation concluded the driver of the southbound car was attempting to make a left turn on a solid green light and failed to yield the right of way to Fritz’s northbound motorcycle.
Fritz was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and died shortly after arriving.
