LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Officials in Lee's Summit say residents should keep pay close attention to avoid falling victim to a telephone scam.
Lee's Summit Water Utilities customers have been targeted in a recent scam when customers are asked to provide bank account and personal information to resolve a billing problem over the phone.
The utility says the telephone calls are bogus and that the utility does not use such calls to collect personal information or credit card numbers.
Customers are able to pay using phone via a Secured Telephone Payment System or online.
